Support to me is any reliable source influencing
your life.
If I did not
have any of my supports, my daily routine would be out of control and lonely.
My faith keeps me grounded and humble. My family and friends are always there
for me and life without them would be lonely and unbearable. At work, without the
support of my colleagues, my daily routine would be awkward, and I would feel
useless. In other words, all supports are important because it helps to have
more than one person to talk to concerning life’s issues and lessons.
My faith in
God is my first support. Without God and His blessings each day, I would not be
able to overcome many trials and tribulations throughout my life. I give God
all the praise and the glory.
My family is my second support. My husband (my love,
my friend, my financial strong hold, my all in all) and my two adorable children
are the world to me. My family is my rock and supports me throughout my life.
My family has supported my decision to do this Master’s degree. When my class
schedule and work schedule get rough, my family is there to motivate me to hang
in there! My family keeps me grounded and focused.
My colleagues also offer support. They are always there to give me a helping hand. We meet and do lesson plans and other activities for the week. I appreciate all the help offered to me throughout the school year.
My students are another support. The children in the classroom offer support on a daily basis because they are curious and ready to learn. It is important to help them as young children to explore and discover the world around them. The children are at an age where learning is fun and exciting, and I get to be a part of their daily learning and development. It gives me great pleasure to know that I helping young children to build the foundation they will need to move to the next level of their education. On the first day of school, the children see me as a stranger, but at the end the children see me as a part of their family who loves and cares for them. This is the reason that I want to continue to work in the field of early childhood education to help these children to become productive adults.

The challenge I chose to imagine is not being able
to walk so my mobility would solely be a wheel chair. I would need the Ministry
of Education to support me by making special provisions on the school grounds
to accommodate my need. I would need an assistant who could juggle as much as
possible and I would need to be showered with comfort from my family and
colleagues. I know I need support from all the persons in my life some way or
another so I just ask the Lord to guide and protect us all so we can be a part
of each other’s lives.
